ODPM

Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM)
Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. This WAS the UK government office responsible for policy on housing, planning, devolution, regional and local government and the fire service. In 2006 its responsibility for Planning has been taken up by the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG).
Ordnance Datum Newlyn (ODN)
An accurately determined reference tide level, used to calculate relative sea levels and tides.
OSPAR
The Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the North-East Atlantic (OSPAR), which was adopted in September 1992 replaced both the Oslo and Paris Conventions.
Outer Bristol Channel
The area (including Carmarthen Bay) enclosed by a line drawn between St Govan's Head, Lundy, Bull Point (west of Ilfracombe) and Worm's Head.
Overburden
The material overlying the material or materials to be extracted.
Overflow
Water displaced from the hopper as it filled with aggregates. This water, which may contain some sediment, is returned to the sea over the side of the vessel.
